How it works
Four steps from Berlin to your new city
1
Request & survey
Tell us the start, destination and number of rooms. We then survey free of charge, on site in Berlin or by video, and record volume and carrying routes.
2
Written offer
You receive a fixed price with every item listed: transport, team, kilometres and optional extras. No open positions, no renegotiating on moving day.
3
Loading in Berlin
The team dismantles, packs and straps to plan. Only once every blanket is laid and every strap is tight does the truck head for the motorway.
4
Drive & unload
At the destination we carry everything into the right rooms and reassemble on request. You check in your own time before the job is done for us.
Pricing logic
What sets the price of a long-distance move?
For long-distance moves we never quote a flat rate from a catalogue. Three factors decide the calculation, and we clarify all three during the free survey before a single number goes on paper:
Factor 1
Distance
Driving time, fuel and tolls grow with every kilometre. Whether the route is achievable in one day or needs an overnight stop for the team also plays in.
Factor 2
Volume
The cubic metres of your household set the vehicle size and team strength. This is also where it is decided whether a part-load is enough instead of your own truck.
Factor 3
Floors & access
Fourth floor without a lift, a narrow stairwell, a long path to the tailgate: the carrying routes at both addresses set the working time, so we ask about them precisely in advance.
The result is a fixed price with no hidden edges: what the offer says is what you pay. For comparison you will find our Berlin hourly rates and flat rates on the prices page - for long routes the individual fixed price replaces that table.
The saving option
Part-load: the cheaper choice for small volumes
Not every long-distance move needs its own truck. If you are only taking one room, a few pieces of furniture or a handful of heirlooms to another city, a part-load is considerably cheaper: your belongings travel in the free space of a tour we are running anyway, and you pay only for the space they take up.
The honest trade-off is a delivery window instead of a fixed time slot, because the tour follows the main load. If you are unsure which variant fits, we calculate both for you, so you decide with two concrete numbers in front of you rather than a gut feeling.
Routes
Popular routes from Berlin
Within Germany we most often drive towards Hamburg and Hanover, into the Rhineland to Cologne and Dusseldorf, and south to Frankfurt am Main, Stuttgart and Munich. The shorter runs to Leipzig and Dresden are on the tour plan regularly too, as are Nuremberg, Bremen and the Ruhr area.
Moving abroad? We also drive into neighbouring Europe, including Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium and France. Whatever your start and destination, put them into the online request and you will get a concrete estimate for timing and price range.
Head start from Westend
Our base in Berlin Westend sits only minutes from the Funkturm interchange, where the A100 city ring meets the AVUS. From there we reach the A10 orbital and the long-distance motorways in every direction without first crawling across the inner city. If your move starts abroad instead, we survey your current home by video so you never pay for an empty visit. See our team and hourly options on the movers in Berlin page.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions about long-distance moves
?Why do you not offer flat rates for long-distance moves?
Because no two long-distance moves are alike. A single furnished room travelling 200 kilometres is a completely different job from a four-room household with a piano going 600 kilometres. So we look at your home first, free of charge on site or by video, and then give you a written fixed price. Everything you agreed on is included, and that number stays the same on moving day.
?How does the free video survey work?
You give us the start and destination and roughly how many rooms are involved, then we schedule a short video call. You walk through your rooms with your phone while we note the volume, the access routes and any tricky items. It takes about 20 minutes, needs no appointment at your door and gives us everything we need to quote a firm price.
?What is the part-load option and who is it for?
A part-load means your belongings share the free space on a tour we are already running, so you only pay for the cubic metres they take up rather than for a whole truck. It suits anyone moving a small volume: one furnished room, a starter set of furniture or a few individual pieces. In return you agree to a delivery window instead of a fixed time slot. On request we calculate both variants so you can compare the numbers.
?Which cities and countries do you cover?
From Berlin we regularly drive to Hamburg, Hanover, Leipzig, Dresden, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Munich, and we reach every other town in Germany too. We also handle moves into neighbouring Europe, including Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium and France. Just tell us your start and destination and we will confirm timing and a price range.
?How long does a long-distance move take?
Routes up to roughly 300 kilometres we usually complete in a single day: load in the morning, unload at the destination in the afternoon. On clearly longer routes we plan for two days so the team unloads rested rather than exhausted after a marathon drive. Your written offer states which option applies to your route.
?How is my furniture insured on long routes?
Through statutory removal liability (620 EUR per cubic metre), whether we drive 20 or 600 kilometres. Just as important is how the load is secured: furniture blankets, tension straps and a planned loading order keep everything still on the motorway. We are fully insured and drive with our own trained team, not day labourers.
?What if my move-out and move-in dates do not line up?
Then we bridge the gap for you. We collect your household in Berlin, keep it in dry, video-monitored storage from 9 EUR per cubic metre a month and drive the long-distance leg once your new home is ready. You keep one point of contact for transport and storage from start to finish.
